"ELVIS TESTIMONY" (ACT 5)
Bergen Art Gallery, May 1998
Tribute
Seven Elvis lookalikes, including Kjellvis from Lyngdal in southern Norway who sang Elvis hymns.
Afterwards they painted the town red, they went bowling, played squash, ate at Burger King, went to a fun fair and to a disco. They did homage to Elvis by doing the sorts of activities he enjoyed doing.
"LEVIS VERGIL" (ACT 4)
In the middle of the main square in Bergen, Torgallmenningen, the evening before Christmas Eve 1997
Purgatory, public execution of Elvis Jesus.
Spirituality versus materialism. Elvis was standing in a cirkel of flames in his bright red "Burning Love" jumpsuit. Behind high steel fences, at least 10 000 persons witnessed the happening, in the middle of the worst panic shopping for Christmas.
"ELVIS PRIESTLY" (ACT 3)
The dungeon in the Rosenkrantz Tower, Bergen, October 1997
The doubt
Elvis in his "Black Butterfly" jumpsuit had been sentenced by the people and thrown into the dungeoon. He appeared to the visitors in the dungeon one day, but disappeared as quickly as he arrived. "Gotta go, baby", was his only comment.
"ELVIS AROANNES" (ACT 2)
The Bergen Aquarium in Bergen, December 1996
Healthy, positive compassion
Elvis Aroannes was sitting crouched and imprisoned in one of the bigger tanks filled with water. The phenomenon was at last trapped! This was a continuation of him being found on the bottom of the pond Lille Lungegårdsvann. The Bergen Aquarium had the honour to put on display the proof that he really existed.
People came crowding to the Aquarium during the ten days he was there, but suddenly one day he was gone. Only a note was left, saying: "Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building."
"ELVIS JESUS" (ACT 1)
Lille lungegårdsvann, Bergen, June 1995
Return, death, resurrection.
The day "Elvis Jesus" (who were standing on an underwater platform) was to be unveiled by helicopter at the pond Lille Lungegårdsvann, he had vanished in thin air. There was much ado on the radio, tv and in the newspapers. The police went into action in Bergen to find him. Several persons called to report that they had seen Elvis inside and outside the city. The second day three students called the police and admitted that they had swum out to Elvis who stood in the middle of the pond, about 150 metres from shore, because they thought he was Elvis. It was further than they thought, and they almost drowned. They clung to Elvis to save their life, so that he had to pay with his life and was engulfed by the water.
TV2 and divers from the Navy found him "floating" on a 6 metres depth. The third day he resurrected.
